Exercise 'Bold Avenger 2009'
September 14-25, 2009
The Royal Netherlands Air Force - Koninklijke Luchtmacht at Bold Avenger 2009

322 Squadron based at Leeuwarden were operating from home base with at least two General Dynamics F-16AM Fighting Falcons. On September 23 they received fuel from a 100 ARW KC-135R Stratotanker using callsign 'Texaco 63' operating from RAF Mildenhall, on their outward from northern Holland against the Electronic Warfare Tactics range at RAF Spadeadam in northern England.

RNAF F-16AMs ‘Scarlet 01 and 02’ were due at 09:05 but did not arrive until 09:31 each took just 4,000 pounds of fuel. The pair departed by 09:38 after they had formed a tactical formation behind the tanker for my camera.
