It is now operated by The Yorkshire Flying Club. Composite aircraft, incorporating some parts from the original G-AEXD and powered by a JAP (J.A. Prestwich) engine. |
Left to right: Dart Kitten II (G-AEXT). The only surviving Dart Kitten in the world. G-AEXT was built in 1937 by Alfred Weyl, a one-time aircraft designer for the Fokker Aircraft Company. He moved to the UK after escaping Nazi Germany as a Jewish refugee. In 1937, Alfred and two other German exiles designed and built the Dart Kitten. G-AEXT proved very popular with Geoffrey Allington, a demonstration pilot, and both Geoffrey and John De Havilland flew it. It’s now part of The Real Aeroplane Company based at Breighton. |
