A brief photo-report using my scanned slides taken during the Cannon Air Show of 1996. |
General Dynamics–Grumman EF-111A Raven (67-0037 marked '67-7037' 'CC') with 429 ECS, 27 FW. To AMARC April 1, 1998 as FV0313, scrapped in 2010.
I found myself alone on the active EF-111 ramp. While taking this image the pilot of '7037' with engine running waved his arm to get my attention. Fearing the worse, and thinking I had over-stepped my mark, I quickly scuttled back a few yards. He then pointed again, only then I realized that as his ground crew had left him to it, he was asking me if their wheel chocks had been taken away. They had, I gave him a thumbs up and he taxied out in seconds. I must admit I felt proud of the part I played in his mission! |
