50th Anniversary of the introduction of the Turkish Air Force F-4 Phantom - "The Elephant Walk"
The Elephant Walk was the climax of the day on 1st Main Jet Base, Eskisehir. During the day there had been a five ship and later a four ship F-4E Phantom display. When the last flying Phantoms landed they joined six others holding off the far end of the runway and taxied down the towards the waiting photographers. They held their position for 15 minutes before taxying back to their shelters. |
