Fouga CM.170R Magister (168 ex ‘315-XX’ with GE 315 and later ‘GF’ with CIFAS 328) ex Armee de l Air. 168 came off the production line in August 1958, it was the first aircraft built to be fitted with servo-controls. From 1999 it was with the Ailes Anciennes Toulouse Museum, before moving to the small village of Saulgond in South-West France in 2006 where it resided until mid 2023.
First seen in December 2023, it is now outside Andrew Phillips’ gîte La Maison de Lavaud, Saint-Quentin-sur-Charente. It has now had its serial re-applied after the aircraft had been devoid of markings for many years. A fifty-year-old Englishman, he has now finished work transforming a derelict house on the shores of Lake Lavaud in Saint-Quentin-sur-Charente, adjacent to where it is now displayed.
