The Boeing B-1 Model 6 (M-ABNA) was designed by William Boeing shortly after World War One. The hull was laminated wood veneer and the wing frames were spruce and plywood. The Model 6 was the first commercial design for Boeing it was fitted with a 100-horsepower Hall-Scott engine driving a pusher propeller mounted amongst the cabane struts. The design was reminiscent of the Curtiss HS-2L that Boeing had been building under license during the war. Only one example was built, as Boeing had trouble selling it in a market flooded with war-surplus aircraft.
In 1920, it was acquired by Edward Hubbard, who used it to carry air mail between Seattle, Washington and Victoria, British Columbia. Air mail service began on December 27, 1919, and continued till 1927. Flying over 350,000 miles between Seattle and Victoria, British Columbia it wore out six engines. The seaplane flew until 1930 when it was transferred to Seattle's Museum of History and Industry in 1954 for display.
