The museum situated at Carlisle Crosby airfield looks after a modest but expanding collection of mostly former RAF aircraft. It is run by volunteers who care for the aircraft several of them have recently been repinted including; Gannet ECM.6 (XA459) and Lightning F.53 (ZF583) as had Gloster Meteor NF.14 (WS832) a few weeks before my visit. Whilst SEPECAT Jaguar T.4 (XX146 'GT') in 54 Squadron markings arrived shortly after my vist in July 2022. |

Left to right: BAC Lightning F.53 (ZF583 ex 53-681 painted as 'XP748 M'). It is really a former Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft it was retired to the UK in 1986. It was repainted in 56 Squadron markings during 2021 and 2022. |
