Lynx AH.7 (XZ642) with 667 Squadron (HQ Director Army Aviation Development and Trials) in February 2015. |
Thursday September 10, 2015 The day was dominated by a C-130J Hercules making a series of landings and touch-and-goes. A Gazelle visited twice and the very nice former Royal Navy Sea King also made an appearance.

Merlin HC.3 (ZJ128 'M') of 846 Naval Air Squadron. |
Friday June 12, 2015 With my good friend Max flying in from Italy I was hoping he had a good day. However it was very slow and apart from a Squirrel the only descent movement was a Royal Navy Merlin which was caught in a confined landing area and again on the DZ.

Thursday June 4, 2015 Another opportunity to shoot Bell 212HP AH.1 (ZJ969 'K') now that the student training course is in full swing. The day ended with a Lynx AH.7 dropping in to the confined landing area was caught just in time before it pushed briefly on to the pinnacle.

Sea King HU.5SAR (ZA137 '820') in 771 Naval Air Squadron markings |
Wednesday March 4, 2015 The third time in as many weeks on Salisbury Plain hoping to catch the former Royal Navy Sea King which is now operated by QinetiQ at Boscombe Down. After a quiet hour on DD I decided to go across to EVDZ I made it in time to get the elusive Sea King which was followed by a Chinook. Early afternoon with the DZ being marked out for a para-drop and with 'Marine 13' calling for DD we dashed back there to make a different Wildcat and later a Lynx AH.7. Very pleased with the decision to move which today worked out very nicely.

Gazelle AH.1 (ZB692 'Y') of 671 Squadron AAC. |
Tuesday February 17, 2015 Sunny all day but it was not until 12:30 did anything appear when a Gazelle entered the confined landing area dropping into three locations with very little hesitation. A 771 NAS Sea King and a Dauphin flew past the DZ. A 667 Squadron Lynx also stayed well clear apart from a few flypasts as did a Boscombe Gazelle. Another Gazelle and Squirrel were not quite so shy.
