Exercise Cobra Warrior 2019

Exercise Cobra Warrior the largest for some years centred on RAF Waddington consisted of around 50 aircraft from the German (GAF), Italian (ItAF) and Israeli Air Forces (IAF) training alongside RAF assets.
The ItAF flew Eurofighter EF2000 Typhoons with 4° Stormo based at Grosseto, 36° Stormo based at Gioia del Colle and 37° Stormo based at Trapani. The GAF flew Eurofighter EF2000 Typhoons with Jagdgeschwader 73 (Fighter Wing 73) based at Rostock-Laage. The IAF flew McDonnell Douglas F-15C/D Baz with 106 ‘Spearhead’ squadron based at Tel Nof Air Base, Israel. Air refueling support was provided by the RAF (Voyager), IAF (Boeing KC-707) and GAF (Airbus A310-304 MRTT) operating from RAF Brize Norton. |
Most days there were mass launches of all the multi-national aircraft. |
