RAF Cottesmore TTTE Family Days Looking Back (to my pre-digital camera days) 1992, 1993, 1995 and 1996

A brief photo-report using my slides taken during a base visits in 1992, 1993, 1995 and 1996. The Tri-National Tornado Training Establishment (TTTE) held a series of Family Days which attracted a number of visiting aircraft.

July 1993

Tucano T.1 (ZF406) Central Flying School in special display colour scheme applied for the 1993 season. 130 Tucano T.1s were built for the RAF by Shorts of Belfast. It entered service with the Central Flying School at RAF Scampton, for trials, in June 1988. Pilot training started in 1993 with the retirement of the Jet Provost.

Westland Whirlwind HCC.12 (XR486 registered G-RWWW) built for the Queen's Flight. Eventually transferred to the The Helicopter Museum in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.
