(For all these shots I used a Canon EOS 5D Mk III with the following lenses;
Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS Mk II with and without a x1.4 extender Mk III).

Canyon low-flying in 2017
Eight days in the Canyon at five locations with conditions ranging from cloudless blue skies to grey cloud and a smokey haze from the forest fires hundreds of miles to the west. One half day was a blank and another had just three passes whilst another had over 50 passes.

F/A-18E Super Hornet ('NG-200') VFA-14 Squadron CAG Bird 'Oldest and Boldest'. First of a four-ship they are carrying the improved multiple ejector rack (IMER) bomb rack.
The blue bombs are 25lb Mk.76 practice bombs and simulate the flight characteristics of a Mk.82 500lb bomb. |
