An evening with Vulcan B2 XM655
Wellesbourne Mountford
November 27, 2021
Neil Cave (Timeline Events) organised another event here to raise restoration funds for Vulcan XM655. The weather on the day was far better than forecast during the photo shoot although it was rather cold. The re-enactors worked hard as did Steven Comber to make sure we all got the shots we hoped for.
Avro Vulcan B.2 (XM655) still under the excellent care of '655 Maintenance and Preservation Society is emaculate condition and is still able to perform engine runs and fast taxiing events despite its last flight being made in 1984. XM655 flying career lasted twenty years and on retirement was bought and registered G-VULC but due to costs it was not possible to keep it flying.
