To make way for the Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Block 52M Fighting Falcons for 116 Combat Wing, 335 Squadron which were delivered from May 2009 they transferred their aging LTV A-7 Corsair IIs to 336 Squadron. The aircraft in the combined fleet in the best condition remained in service the rest were put in to open storage and used as a spares source.
