53rd Wing (WG) is based at Eglin AFB and comprises; 53rd Electronic Warfare Group (EWG), 53rd Test Management Group (TMG) and the 53rd Test and Evaluation Group (TEG).
53rd WEG is located at Tyndall and is made up of; 53rd Test Support Squadron, 81st Range Control Squadron, 82nd Aerial Targets Squadron, 83rd Fighter Weapons Squadron and 86th Fighter Weapons Squadron. 53rd EWG comprises; 16th Electronic Warfare Squadron, 36th Electronic Warfare Squadron and 68th Electronic Warfare Squadrons.
53rd TEG is located at Nellis AFB is responsible for the overall management of the 53rd Wing's flying activities and incorporates 53rd Wing USAF Warfare Centre at Eglin which in turn reports to the Warfare Centre at Nellis. Members of the 53rd TEG execute operational test and evaluation, tactics development and evaluation projects assigned by Headquarters Air Combat Command. Aircraft assigned to the group include test-configured F-15 Eagle, F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, B-1 Lancer, B-2 Spirit, B-52 Stratofortress, A-10 Thunderbolt, HH-60 Pave Hawk, Global Hawk, Predator and F-22 Raptor aircraft. There are number of dispersed Test and Evaluation Squadrons (TES); 31st TES at Edwards/Gray Butte, 49th TES at Barkdale, 72nd at Whiteman, 85th TES at Eglin, 337th TES at Dyess, 422nd TES at Nellis, 556th TES at Creech and the Combat Search and Rescue Combined Test Force at Nellis. |
